Original Art
May 7, 2025What Is Original Art? And Why It Belongs in Your Home
When we talk about original art, we mean a one-of-a-kind piece — a painting or drawing created entirely by hand by the artist. It’s not a print or reproduction. It’s the real thing, with visible brushstrokes, texture, and the quiet energy that comes from hours of focused creation.
Original paintings are often deeply personal. They carry the artist’s story — and when you bring one into your home, it becomes part of your story too.
Why choose original art?
In a world of fast trends and mass production, original art stands out. It’s timeless. It has presence. And it brings something you can’t buy off a shelf: soul.
When you buy an original painting, you’re investing in something made slowly, thoughtfully, and with care. You’re supporting an artist’s practice, passion, and process. And you’re welcoming a piece of handmade beauty into your everyday life.
Art with heart (and a little Italian flavour)
As an artist with Italian roots, I create work inspired by food, faith, tradition, and the warmth of handmade things. My paintings are grounded in memory and atmosphere — a café moment, a quiet table, a bowl of lemons under golden light. I aim to capture the beauty of everyday rituals, both humble and holy.
Each original artwork is crafted from beginning to end in my Bathurst studio — from sketch to brushstroke to the final photo. No shortcuts. Just honest work made with my hands and heart.
How to find the right piece
Choosing art doesn’t have to be complicated. Start with what moves you. If a painting makes you pause or feel something — even quietly — it’s worth considering.
Think about:
• What space you want to transform
• The colours and mood you love
• A story or feeling you want to evoke
